Refillable Hair Products Boutique

There’s this shop in New Orleans called Vom Fass. Basically, you go there and fill up containers with liqueurs, wines, oils and vinegars. It’s a really cute concept and if you’re into oils and vinegar rinses for your hair, this is the place to go. Ok, actually people that go here are most likely looking for gourmet oils and vinegars for cooking purposes, but not me. They have everything from coconut vinegar to cherry oil. If you’re interested there are 4 locations in the US. Basically, they sell glass containers and you fill them with whatever you want. There are different prices for different sized bottles and different types of products. My question for you would be, would this work for hair products? Would you be into it? A local shop in your city that sells your favorite products this way?

Why it makes sense?
  • Features all of our favorite brands.
  • Companies save money on packaging so you save money as the end consumer. (It’s more complicated, but for the purposes of this post… let’s imagine this is the case).
  • It’s interactive.
  • The containers are protected, so you don’t have to worry about contamination of people sticking there fingers in or anything of that nature.
  • You choose how much product you want to buy and how much you want to spend.
  • Reduce, reuse, recycle by using glass jars and bottles that you can refill at the store. Cute glass jars would look so much better on your vanity or in your bathroom. Yes, it will get tricky if you’re using them in the shower, but let’s imagine plastic or whatever is available too at this place.
So, are you into it?

Men With Long Hair

source: Fabulous Buzz

You just saw Troy Polamalu and his lovely wife in the previous post. Do you think Theodora has anything to do with the care of Troy’s hair? That’s an insane amount of hair on a man. He works out all day every day, so you know he has to wash it everyday. Do you think he really uses Head & Shoulders on his legendary curls? Hmmm, I don’t know if I believe it. I’ve seen his hair frizzy when he doesn’t do anything to it, but then I see it when it appears to be smoothed/shingled. I wonder if he gets his hair done before every game. What do you think? I just can’t see a man caring for curls of that length. Like I said, I’ve seen his hair frizzy before his Head & Shoulders deal and I could tell it was literally a wash and go, he is undoubtedly doing a whole lot of something extra now. Do you think it’s too much hair for a man? Could you be bothered? I’ll tell you what, if I was Theodora I would have a Denman surgically implanted into my palms to keep that $1,000,000 hair on point at all times, but if his hair wasn’t his money maker, mmm… homie might be own his own with all o’ that.

HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT MEN WITH LONG HAIR?
I love it and I’d be happy to do his hair whenever
I like it, but I have my own to worry about
I’m not a fan
I’m not sure

Shear Splurge

From left to right: 1. Fromm Forever Collection 2. Joewell Shears 3. Kamisori Shears

I’m in the market for new hair shears. I came across these and they were intriguing. The Fromm Forever Shear Collection are made of Japenese steel. With the Forever Sharp Warranty you never have to sharpen your Forever Shear. Just give Fromm your used Forever Shear for a brand new one for only $40. This Forever Shear Collection is a limited edition set that includes not only a Forever Shear but also a FREE Thinner, Razor, Shear Case, Spray Bottle and Neck Duster. The set retails for $149.99. Then I saw the $419 shears by Joewell. Their major selling point: they are made of a cobalt based alloy and are hand honed by master engineers. Then there were these $2,802 Kamisori Venom hair cutting shears. Unless you’re a stylist and you specialize in cutting, I can’t really see why anyone would pay that much for a pair of scissors.

HOW MUCH ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY FOR A GOOD PAIR OF HAIR SHEARS?
Ummm, $0. That’s what hair salons are for.
No more than $25
No more than $50
No more than $100
No more than $200
No more than $500
No more than $1000
Over $1000, money is no object where my hair is concerned

Your Man, Your Hair: Whatever He Likes

HOW DOES YOUR MAN FEEL ABOUT YOUR HAIR?
He likes it better straight.
He likes it when it’s natural.
He likes what makes me happy.
I don’t care what he likes.
I don’t have a man.

Your Man, Your Hair: Playing in Your Hair

DO YOU LET YOUR MAN PLAY WITH YOUR HAIR?
Ummm, no! Where they do that at?
Sometimes, but he has to wash his hands first.
Sometimes, it depends on my mood or how I’m wearing my hair.
Yes! He can do whatever he wants.

Hair Typing, Do You Care

How do you feel about hair typing?
I don’t care. It’s never helped me.
It matters, but it’s not a big deal.
It’s very important and helped me with my hair.

How Do You Feel About Shrinkage?

One of the biggest issues with curly and kinky hair is shrinkage. Lots of women love it, lots of women hate it. The fact that some women can stretch their hair to their waist, but in a natural state it will only ever curl up to their shoulders is kind of amazing. If you have super long hair when straightened, it’s cool to rock your hair in a natural state and have an entirely different look to where people think you got a hair cut. How do you feel about shrinkage? If you’re not a huge fan of shrinkage all the time, what techniques do you use to stretch your hair?
