Happy 4th! Today is also my hair’s Independence Day: on July 4, 2008 I ended a 17-month long transition and chopped off all of my relaxed ends and I have been natural ever since. From what I’ve been reading, a lot of people make a choice to go natural on July 4th, but it wasn’t planned in my case. I did it on a whim. If you want to find everything you could possibly want to know about my 17-month long transition, read my e-book, How To Transition To Natural Hair – Secrets of a Long-Term Transitioner on Amazon. It’s only $2.99 and free if you have Amazon Prime.
I am also due for a hair update, I do those quarterly, and it’s about that time. Stay tuned. I’ll say that I am still trying to grow my hair out to waist length. The last time I checked, I was about 2 inches away. I might be doing a chop soon to cut off damage caused by several botched attempts to perfect my ombre highlights. I won’t be doing that again. It really set me back. I’ll have more to come on that later.
